Beaches and Calas

Every year our clients ask us what are the best beaches and coves in the area and always answer with a question: What type of beach would you like to find?

And there are all kinds of landscapes, small, intimate and difficult to access. Beaches of fine golden sand, calm but with an atmosphere, restaurants and snacks, or impressive rocky coves, perfect to forget about everything and make snorkel.

You can not miss:

  • Platja d’Illa Roja: it is a cove with golden and thick sand, of crystalline water. Nudist of international renown, with an influx of average people. It is one of the most emblematic in the Baix Empordà to be presided over by a reddish-rocky islet that gives its name to the creek.
  • Gola del Ter: it is a large beach of fine sand, one of the most virgin and tranquil sections of the Costa Brava, formed by dunes and with the outburst of the River Ter. From this beach without much services, you can see beautiful Sun poles overlooking the river and views of the Medes Islands. On this beach you can enjoy a day out with your dog.
  • Les Muscleres: fine sandy beach, located in front of the ruins of Empúries, it has a pinewood that comes from the bathing area and can give you moor in the hottest moments of the day. Perfect for family, with services, easy access and ideal for snorkeling, with ancient Greek and Roman remains.
  • Aiguablava: one of the best known coves on the spectacular coast of Begur. Of fine and white sand, with little product and turquoise waters. It is a busy cove in the summer but it is one of the indispensable ones in our list. It is easily accessible, has parking, restaurants and showers.
  • Cala Ferriol: a small, unspoilt cove, with no services of pebbles and crystalline waters and with a wealth of sub-aquatic resources. Only one fencing can be accessed by foot or by kayak.
